Genovino Gambale, known as Gino to all, age 90, passed away peacefully on Friday April 12, 2024, at the Ulster Hospital, Belfast.
Gino was born in Naples to parents Giovanni & Maria Gambale and had 3 sisters and 4 brothers.
He married Jennifer in 1961 (now deceased) and had 2 children – Georgina & Francesco.
Gino is survived by his children & 7 grandchildren: Nicole , Sarah , Gino , Vittorio , Francesco, Luciano and Antonio.
Also survived by his 3 Great Grandchildren:
Luca, Layla & Roman.
In Italy he is survived by his sister Mafalda and many nieces & nephews.
Gino had a very interesting life - he loved to chat and had many interesting stories from his travels & life experiences.
He truly lived life to the full through simple pleasures – reading , painting, gardening, listening to opera, talking about Italy, cooking for everyone & playing cards after dinner.
Gino was a hardworking, kind, caring, generous man who derived so much pleasure from his family especially his great grandchildren. He found companionship & love in his later years with Sybil and will be dearly missed by so many but will always be remembered with love.
A memorial service will be hosted on Thursday 25th April at 11.30 am at St Comgall’s, Brunswick Rd, Bangor, then Roselawn Crematorium for 1.20pm.
Family, friends & others whose lives were touched by Gino are invited to reminisce, & chat with a “wee cuppa tea“ at Bryansburn Inn at 2.30pm.
